Pray for the country of Nigeria which has now delayed elections from Saturday, April 2, until April 9.
Three sets of elections: national assembly, presidential, and governors are due to be staggered one week apart. On election days, the general population may not travel by car from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. but must walk or ride a bicycle to the voting stations. Voting stations are roadside booths manned by university students with laptop computers and scanners to check fingerprinted registrations.
The city of Jos, location of the mission and ECWA church headquarters, is quiet; 9,000 police, immigration, and customs officers are spread out around the city to assure the safety of voters.
Pray with us for peaceful, fair, and conclusive elections nationwide.
